Liverpool and the Beatles

Liverpool harbour front government building.

Our dear friend Susie was able to visit us again this year. She is an important part of our family and she really likes the Beatles. So, we went to Liverpool to celebrate the Beatles. This is the home of the Beatles, the place where they met and the place where they composed the music that would change the world. We visited the city and we booked a "Black Taxi Tour" of all the Beatles sites. We went to the childhood home of each member of the group, the places where they met, and where they got their start. We also visited places that inspired some of their music.

Look closely, can you see "Eleanor Rigby" ...

A modest stage in their early days.

Along the way we visited the Casbah Coffee Club, the home of the Best family and the place where the Beatles got their performance start as the Quarrymen. Pete Best was the original drummer for the group and was later replaced by Ringo Star. We were hosted by Pete's younger brother Brian Best who shared some great stories with us. We had a blast riding around Liverpool singing old Beatles songs and remembering the group of young Englishmen who conquered the entertainment world and touched so many lives.
