Fringe Festival

Edinburgh Castle
In August Edinburgh is the site of the largest arts festival in the world: The Edinburgh Festival Fringe. There are thousands of performances in more than 250 venues scattered around the city. We have been hearing about this festival for months but didn't decide to go until the week before. As it turned out we had wonderful weather, convenient for wandering the streets of Edinburgh. We picked up a guide in Edinburgh and found 340 pages of Cabaret, Comedy, Theatre, Music, and Dance listings! We spent Saturday cruising and exploring the abbey, so Sunday we purchased tickets to two different shows, and also spent some time in a couple of the art museums in Edinburgh. I really wanted to try out one of the authentic Scottish Gaelic music events, but they were either not playing while we were there, or sold out. There's always next year!

There were lots of street performances!

This guy was doing the "statue" thing and managed to freak out several children.
