The Rodin Museum is not as well known as the Louvre, or the D'Orsay, but it is definitely worth a visit. This museum contains the largest collection of the sculptor, Rodin's, works.

In 1880 Rodin received a commission to design a door for a museum. This piece was to include scenes from The Divine Comedy by Dante. While Rodin worked on this piece for the rest of his life, he never actually saw it cast. He did make larger sculptures from figures in this door, including The Thinker, and The Shades.
